Herbie Faye was a Bronx-born actor who appeared in both of Phil Silvers's CBS television series, "The Phil Silvers Show" (1955-1959) and "The New Phil Silvers Show" (1963-1964).

Faye was 56 when he was offered an acting role as Corporal Sam Fender in the hit TV series, "The Phil Silvers Show" in the 1950s.

Herbie Faye made his last appearance as an unnamed witness in "Melvin and Howard" a 1980 movie starring Jason Robards. He died in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of eighty-one.
