Civil War Union Soldier. He enlisted on August 5, 1861 as a Private in Company A of "Halsted's Horse" regiment, a unit that would become the 1st New Jersey Volunteer Cavalry. He died of disease at Camp Mercer, Virginia on October 24, 1861, a little more then two months later.
