He established the famous Pfister hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He made a fortune in tanning, and then turned his focus on building a hotel that would be at the heart of Milwaukee. His son Charles Pfister finished building the hotel which opened in 1893, and it is said that Guido haunts the halls, making sure that everything is running smoothly.
