Businessman. His family were owners of a major Brooklyn brewery, a four story building with a large smokestack that once stood directly across the street from main entrance to "The Evergreens." During prohibition, George Trommer - son of the founder - made a white label near-beer, in a famous "stubby bottle" and was in a great position to dominate the market when Prohibition was repealed in 1933. The brewery enjoyed great success until the brewery strikes of 1949.
