Jamie Gingles Muzzy

Patrick-McMillen

1962-2011

Jamie Gingles Muzzy Patrick-McMillen, 48, of Pensacola, joined her Lord and Savior on March 24, 2011 after a long, painful battle with several auto-immune diseases.

Born on October 16, 1962 in Cincinnati, OH to her mother, Meredith Gingles Muzzy, she returned to her mother's hometown of Pensacola in 1975 where she completed her education, graduating from Woodham High School in 1980. She then attended several colleges and Universities until earning a Master's Degree from the University of West Florida. After losing her first husband in a helicopter accident in 1988 she founded the Young Widowed Persons Support Group to help aid others through the grieving process. She re-married in 1997 and continued her support group, along with working hard for the children of Escambia County School District until being forced to accept medical disability in 2000.

In April of 2005, she realized her lifelong dream of visiting Paris, France only to be struck down into a coma 7 months later. Her unexpected recovery fueled her determination to beat the illnesses that plagued her life. From January 2006 to March 2011, she lived her life to the fullest, placing her children and family first. Her life received a fresh perspective where time became invalid and a watch was just a simple accessory to the days outfit. She loved her two boys deeply and knowing that she would not be there to see them marry, graduate, nor see her grandchildren were her only regrets. Jamie was preceded in death by her first husband, Dean Patrick; grandfather, Jamie Gingles; grandmother, Helen Hamn Gingles and her beloved dachshund, Gretel.

She is survived by her husband, Jim McMillen; sons, Drue and Michael; mother, Meredith; sisters, Anna and Sarah; her aunt, Jamie Reese and her children; her aunt, Ann Muzzy and her children and her beloved dachshund, Bixby.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 2276 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32504.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations for her son's college expenses.

Special thanks go out to Dr. Thomas Tan, for his great care, Dr. Etheridge and Dr. Erickson for their support, all the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital, Dr. Messina, Dr. Chen and Dr. Batista.

Special love to Peggy Vought, Jane Jacobson, Norman Muzzy, Warren Muzzy, Meredith Davis, John Stanhagen, Olga and Thomas Moore, Olga Fletcher.
