M.S. Barlow, an Old resident of his county since the opening of the strip, passed away Saturday evening at 9 o'clock, at the family home on East Sixth street, from general debility and old age. Mr. Barlow was past 84 years of age.
He was well known in the city and surrounding community, having come here at the opening of the strip. He was a veteran of the civil war. Mr. Barlow leaves to mourn his loss a wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Jones of Wichita, and one son, who lives at Shawnee.
Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church this afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. O.L. Sample officiating. The services were in charge of the Civil War veterans and the American Legion. Civil war veterans were honorary pallbearers and members of the American Legion pallbearers.
