Ted passed on New Year's Day after watching his Lakers with family around him. He was born in Fayetteville, N.C. to Claude and Nell Bass. Ted loved sports. In High School, he was the Quarterback on his Steadman Rams Football team and played basketball and baseball. Ted joined the Navy in 1951 and while stationed at the Alameda Naval Base in California he met the love of his life Mardelle Forst on the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk at the roller coaster. He enjoyed company bowling leagues during those years. For 40 years he supplied donuts to several charities and sports teams in the Burbank area.
