Jason was the son of Shirley Smith Cherry & Rommie "Ray" Cherry and is survived by his parents and sister, Heather Lynn Cherry. Maternal Grandparents, Samuel B. Smith and Louise Smith of Wallace; five maternal Aunts, Jennie Mae Jones and husband Lacy of Hampstead, Dot Weir and husband Fred of Winston-Salem, Joyce Ezzell and husband Linwood of Magnolia, Shirley Cherry and husband Ray of Rocky Point and Teresa Smith of Willard; four maternal Uncles, Bobby Smith and wife Peggy of Rocky Point, Sammy Smith and wife Janice of Wilmington, Billy Smith of Goldsboro and Thomas Smith and wife Ann of Teachey. Paternal grandparents, Woodrow Cherry. Jason passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident on highway 210 in New Hanover County. He is deeply missed.
