EILEEN GARVEY BIGGER (1926-2004)

NORMAL, IL -- Eileen Bigger, 77, of 318 N Parkside Drive, Normal, died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday (Feb 17, 2004) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. James H. Turner Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born May 31, 1926, in Normal, to Michael William and Margaret Kistner Garvey. She married Ralph Bigger on Sept. 10, 1944, in Hudson. He died Jan 26, 2004.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Losey and Vickie (Dick) West, both of Normal, five granddaughters, Dawn Craig, Bloomington; Shannon Thomas, Normal; Julie (Paul) Bolduc, Bloomington; Wendy (Scott) Varness, Morton; and Nikki Weer, Normal, 13 great-grandchildren, Scott, Tim, McKale, Blaise, Jordan, Kiana, Shelby, Spencer, Lauren, Reilly, Alyssa, Brodee and Jett; and one sister, Margaret Mary Tallon, Meadows.

Her parents, one brother, Bill Garvey; and one sister, Helen Tallon, preceded her in death.

Eileen and Ralph had farmed at Hudson and Gridley and for 50 years at Towanda. Although born a city girl, farming soon became instilled in her heart, with the love of her life, Ralph.

Eileen was devoted farm wife, loving mother, proud grandma, treasured sister and sister-in-law who will forever be in our hearts.
