MILLERSBURG Lewis W. Shedron, 83, of Millersburg, died Thursday morning, Oct. 27, 2005, at his home, surrounded by his family, following a short illness.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Revs. David Truit and David Clemens officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, with military rites being conducted by the Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691 or to the Holmes County Humane Society, P.O. Box 442, Millersburg 44654.

He was born April 6, 1922, in Bowling Green, Ohio, and was the son of Benjamin Lewis and Willie (Lovell) Shedron. On March 12, 1947, he married Helen Zollars and she survives.

Lewis was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army's 370th Field Artillery C Battery. He proudly served his country and had the honor to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Along with his wife, Helen, he was owner of Shedron Trucking and operated under Wenham and Mason Dixon. He previously worked for Clinage Lumber.

He was a member of Welcome Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars, Millersburg American Legion and Millersburg AMVETS.

He enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, Myrtle Beach, his German shepherds and Ford trucks.

Surviving in addition to his wife are six children and their spouses, Bob Shedron and friend, Marilyn Croskey, Bonnie and Ted Vaubel, Karen and John Graber, Joyce and Raymond Angle, Mike and Kathy Shedron, and Lee Shedron, all of Holmes County; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Shedron and wife, Cathy and two sisters, June and husband, Fred Felberg and Ava LaRocca.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Herman, Alfred and Randall and a sister, Christine Finney.

Dad was a friend to all, always had a smile and will be greatly missed.
