Elmira was the daughter of Jonas and Sarah Stocker Willhouer of Northampton Couty, Pennsylvania. She married Daniel Stocker on 31 December 1854 in Port Washington, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

The following from the Biographical Record of Wood County, Beers, 1897, P. 1102

Mrs. Stocker came with her family to Wood County shortly after the death of her husband, and settled upon the property here, improving and developing it into a fine farm. She now resides there with her second son, sustained by the love and affection of her children, in the esteem of a large circle of friends.
