MILLERSBURG -- Richard Emerson Uhl, 86, 4437 Township Road 305, died Sunday evening, Jan. 7, 2007, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, after an extended illness.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Revs. Robert Groenke and Karl Stonebraker officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m.

The family suggests that contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Richard was born May 24, 1920, in Millersburg to Ralph Custer and Adda (Korns) Uhl and married Evelyn Jaunita Browning on June 28, 1942. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and had worked 20 years for Hardy Township Road Maintenance.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, was a 60-year member of Spartan Lodge 126 F&AM of Millersburg and was a 32nd degree mason. He was a former 50-year member of Eastern Star and was a member of Millersburg Eagles.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children and their families, Richard and Ruth Ann Uhl of Millersburg, grandchildren, James, Thomas and Steven Uhl, step-grandchildren, Rick and Jeff Allison; Jeanie and William T. Young of Nashville and grandson, Rickey Young; and Barbara A. and Paul I. Troyer of Fort Myers, Fla., grandchildren, Donald and Jody Troyer and Beth Barnes; six great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Robert Uhl.
