Clyde's Mother was Melissa A Crocker, daughter of Ezra & Sarah BLODGETT Crocker.

Clarence Eugene "Clyde" Baker was born in Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin in December 1857, and moved to Fremont, Dodge County, Nebraska, with his parents, Levi Baker Jr. and Melissa Crocker. In 1876, he and his brother, Frank, went to the Black Hills with a freight outfit. From there, he freighted through Wyoming, Idaho, and eastern Montana. In 1887, he moved to the Plains valley with his two brothers, Frank and James. In 1886, Clyde Baker married Clara Cole. Clara was born April 27, 1869, in Canada, and died August 5, 1952. At one time, she was noted as a grower of fine roses. To Clyde and Clara were born two daughters, Edith Elvira; Grace Gertrude,and a son, Eugene Marmaduke "Duke". Clyde was appointed the first sheriff of Sanders County, and served from March 1, 1906, to January 1, 1907, when J. M. Massey took office. Clyde Baker was then elected sheriff in the November 1908 election, and served the two-year term beginning January 1, 1909.

On December 16, 1916 Clyde married Florence Pearl BUTTON Letford daughter of Lord Mortimer Button and Minnie Almira GANNETT BUTTON. Clyde and Florence lived on a farm outside of Plains and had four sons that were born there. They are:
Clarence Galen (Tim) Baker, born 1-19-1917, died in 1987 in Billings, Montana; Hiram Lee Baker, born 5-09-1919, died in 8-14-1995 in Lewiston, Idaho; Douglas Conrad Baker, born 1-06-1922, died 8-18-2007 in Lewiston, Idaho; Monte Cyril Baker Munn, born 12-11-1924, died 11-11-2010 in Lewiston, Idaho.

Around 1925, Clyde and Florence moved to Craigmont, Idaho. Shortly thereafter, they separated and Clyde went to Spokane, Washington. Once there, he worked at U.S. Fox Farm in Spokane. Clyde Baker died February 2, 1930, in Spokane. Florence Pearl died June 21, 1964 in Chester, Plumas County, California.
