She was born July 6, 1923, in Holmes County, to the late Paul and Anna Heimbach Berner (1885- ), and was a 1941 graduate of Millersburg High School. She retired from K-Mart in 1985, after 18 years of faithful service as a department manager.
Clara enjoyed crafts, gardening and feeding the birds, rabbits and squirrels. She and her husband, Eugene, were members of the Swing-A-Ling Club in Canton and Fun Shop in Greentown, where they enjoyed square dancing for many years. She also attended Aultman Primetime meetings every month.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Philip Casey in 1982; brothers, Henry, Paul, Karl and William Berner; and a sister, Mary Berner.
Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Eugene Casey; a daughter, Pamela (the Rev. Richard) Allnutt of Wheaton, Ill.; a grandson, Andrew (Gretchen) Allnutt of Chicago, Ill.; brothers, George (Juanita) Berner of Millersburg and John (Adrian) Berner of Dover; and a sister, Dorothy Close of Millersburg.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11:30 a.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church, North Canton, with the Rev. Doug Patton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.
