Mrs. Maude Mildred Phillips, 74, of 26 Wallace St., Rome, died early today in a Rome hospital following an attack suffered earlier.
Born in Walker County, June 5, 1906, daughter of the late Ella Bates and John Dodson, she was a member of East Rome Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Helen Jarrell, Tallapoosa; four sons, Charles Phillips, Alvin Phillips and William Phillips, Douglasville; a brother, Charles Dodson, LaFayette; two sisters, Reo Greene, Trion, and Lois McCaulry, Mableton; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at East Rome Baptist Church with the Rev. Woody Lee and Glenn Boatner officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Oaknell Memory Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
