Lorene Hardegree, 70, Porterdale, died Aug. 19 at Newton General Hospital. Funeral services were Aug. 20 at the Chapel fo Caldwell & Cowan.
The Rev. John Ozley officiated. Interment was in Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington.
Born in Walker County, Mrs. Hardegree was formerly employeed at Bibb Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church and was a member of AARP.
Mrs. Hardegree was the former Lorene Hill, daughter of the late Robert and Nevada Childers Hill. She and her husband, the late Jack Hardegree, had been residents of Porterdale since the late 50's.
Pallbearers were Bill Norton, Jerry Aldridge, Frank Malcolm, Dodie Bowen, Volley Parr and Robert Edge.
Mrs. Hardegree is survived by her son, James Larry Hardegree of Porterdale; daughters, Sylvia Edge of Covington and Kathy Dimsdale of Walnut Grove; sisters, Frances Turner of Columbus, Betty Sparks of Summerville and Hazel Howell of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
