Chum was a cute Boston Terrier & my Grandparents Ralph & Jerry Clark's first dog together as a married couple.

From my Grandmother's diary:

Thursday, July 6, 1944
"Well, we have lost Chum. Joe Hyde drove in the yard at 5:20 p.m. & Chummy skipped out of the house & we don't know where he went or what happened to him. We have had him for 3 1/2 years & believe me, you get very attatched to a dog in that time. I hope he comes back as I miss him terribly."

Monday, July 10, 1944
"Well, my Chum is dead. The little fellow up at the end of our street told Ralph & I that they saw Chummy in the road on Montello & Hancock Streets. We advertized in the paper for him & we called up everybody to see if they had found him. Well, I'll never have another dog because I love them too much."

My grandparents eventually did get another dog.
They had a total of 4 dogs (including Chum) during their lifetime.
They loved their dogs like their children & grandchildren- with everything in their hearts.

**Special thanx to Alan "Scotty" Kaufman for sponsoring Chum's memorial!**
