Little Kimberley lost her life at the age of 7 in a house fire. Her father Tommy West 45 also died in the fire. He was house sitting for his step father Alan who was in hospital. The fire was deliberately lit by a woman that had been spending the night, a friend of Alans. The woman was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 5 years.
The West Family had their fair share of tragedy when Tommy's sister Lesley Ann Downey 9 became a victim of The Moor Muderers in the 60's. Their Mother Ann died in 1991 with liver cancer and had fought hard and long to keep Lesleys killers in jail. Alan never recovered from losing Lesley and his wife Ann and then the double tragedy of losing Tommy and his granddaughter left him a broken man.
