He was an explosives ordnance disposal technician. He died while supporting combat operations. Thirty years ago, Adam's fascination with guns began with a dart gun his uncle gave him. During high school, he decided that he wanted to join the military so he joined the Marines right after graduation in 1993 from Garfield Heights High School in Garfield, Ohio. Adam had just finished three tours of duty in Iraq and was on his first tour of duty in Afghanistan. He earned several awards, including commendation medals and achievement medals from both the Navy and Marine Corps. Adam was family oriented and always made time to visit his family, including his 10 siblings when he came home on leave.
