Stacey Chahorski, 19, from Norton Shores, MI, last spoke to her mother by phone in September 1988 from North Carolina. She had been travelling the country and told her mother she was heading back to Michigan.

On December 16, 1988, a woman's body was discovered on the eastside of the northbound lane of I-59 in Dade County, Georgia, approximately five miles north of the Alabama and Georgia State Line. It would remain unidentified for 33 years until finally being identified as Stacey Chahorski's in March 2022.

Her remains will be brought back to Michigan close to her loved ones.
