Portuguese Monarch. He was the second king of Portugal, reigning from 1185 to 1211. He was the third and only surviving son of Afonso I and Mafalda of Savoy. He married Princess Dulce Berenguer the sister of Alfonso II of Aragon in 1174. They had 11 children. He also had 2 children by Maria Aires and 6 by Maria Pais Ribeira.
