Student who commited suicide in protest of the Russian occupation of Czech Republic. After taking part in a hunger strike of protest Jan traveled to back to Prague. On February 25th he walked in a building located at No. 39 on Wenceslas Square poured chemicals over his body and lit himself on fire. he tried to run into the square but was unable and died inthe passageway. The police would not allow his burial in Prague due to the protests that occurred the previous month at Jan Palach's funeral so he was buried in his hometown of Vítkov.
