Royalty. She was born as the seventh child of Ferdinand I and Anna Jagiello. She married Francesco III Gonzaga of Mantua in 1549, but he died four months after the wedding. In 1553, she remarried to Sigismund II. August of Poland who had before been married to her sister Elisabeth. The marriage was cold from the beginning. Like her sister, she suffered from epilepsy and as it became known that she could bear no children, her husband attempted to have the marriage annulled. They separated in 1562, and she left Poland in 1566 to live in Linz. The marriage was never annulled and Sigismund died only five months after her.
