Clara Christianson was born September 16, 1887 in Oslo, Norway to Math and Charlotte Christianson. When she was four years old she came to America with her parents. They settled first in Kindred, North Dakota. At the age of 15 years, she moved with the family to Deering.

She married Ole "Chris" Olson in January 1905 at Towner. They homesteaded in Prescott Township near Glenburn and raised seven children; Olga, Mabel, Henry, Ray, Milton, Clarice and Carmen. Three children died as infants; Gladys and twins, Clarence and Cora. Clara continued to live on the farm following her husband's death in May, 1946. She moved to Minot in 1955. Her son, Carmen Olson continued to farm the land.
