She was born in Minot, ND, on June 10, 1954, the youngest of 5 children to Lawrence and Clarice (Olson) Schimmelpfennig. Cyndi was raised on the family farm near Ruthville where she learned to work hard. She graduated from Glenburn High School in 1972. She met Jim Kosse at his brother's wedding when they ran into each other in the hall. They fell in love and were married on Cyndi's family's farm near Ruthville. They lived in Spokane, WA for a few years before moving to their place in the woods near Valley. Cyndi worked for 8 years as a rural mail carrier, but mostly worked at home as a loving wife and mother.
Cyndi loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a devoted Seattle Seahawks fan and was able to travel to many games as a face painting "12th man". Cyndi was also a true collector, and her house is full of memorabilia from yard sales and auctions.
