MRS. GERTRUDE C. WALZ

---Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude C. Walz, 80, who died suddenly Wednesday morning (April 6) at the Dakota Nursing Home in Vermillion, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
---Rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters at 7:30 p.m. and by the parish at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Elmore-Wagner-Iverson Funeral Home in Vermillion with Rev. Leonard Stanton conducting the rosary. Rev. Duman of Marion will say the funeral Mass Monday.
---Mrs. Walz had been a resident of the Dakota Nursing Home for the last 1 1/2 years. She was born in Vermillion April 24, 1886, to Mr. and Mrs. Victor Chaussee and was reared in Clay County, residing in Vermillion the last 20 years.
---Mrs. Walz was married to Leo Walz at Jefferson, S.D., April 22, 1907. He died Nov. 24, 1946. Mrs. Walz was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and the Order of Martha.
---Survivors include: Four sons, Bernard and William J. of Vermillion, Delmer L. of Homewood, Ill., and Warren L. of Ainsworth, Neb; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Huetson of Denison, Tex., Mrs. Lorraine Powell of Vermillion and Mrs. Mary A. Grangaard of Cudahy, Calif; a sister, Mrs. LaVern O'Connor of Denver, Colo; 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
