OBITUARY: LaGrange, Missouri newspaper, July 14, 1860
J. B. Ellery--Died of erysipelas, in this city, on the 12th of July, 1860, John B., second son of Dr. William E. and Catharine Ellery, in the tenth year of his age. Johnny has left to mourn their loss, a kind mother, two brothers and a little sister, with many other relatives and friends. But they sorrow not as those who have no hope - "For yet again they hope to meet him, When this day of life has fled." May God in his mercy sanctify this sad dispensation of his providence to the spiritual good and eternal welfare of all his friends and relatives whom he has left behind, and may they all at last meet in heaven.
