Richard G. Naugle, 75, of Edgewood Drive, Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at V.A. Medical Center Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born April 24, 1934, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Flora May (Turner) Naugle.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force 5th Air Force 9th Fighter Bomber Squad as a air frame repairman during the Korean War from May 18, 1951, to Nov. 2, 1955, receiving medals including 5th Air Force Patch, Enlisted Aircrew Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Korean War Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Presidential Unit Citation.

He was owner and operator of Lee's Fine Furniture and employed by Peidmont Airlines, US Air and Gannett.

He was a life member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, member of Waynesboro Historical Society, 50-year member of Moose Club, member of VFW Post 695, American Legion Post 15 and Eagles Club Inc., all of Waynesboro, and Nagoya/Komaki air base reunion association Kansas City, Mo.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Connie Lee (Lesher) Naugle whom he married May 16, 1959, sons Richard G. Naugle II of Kernersville, N.C. and Steven W. Naugle and wife Lisa of Waynesboro, grandchildren Steven II, Spencer and Shade, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters Edith L. Naugle and Emma C. (Naugle) Smith; brothers Walter E. Naugle, Earl C. Naugle, Harvey F. Naugle, Charles F. "Ming" Naugle, Arthur P. Naugle and Lester I. Naugle; and a half brother, Robert L. West.

Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. from the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren with Pastor Prudence Yelinek officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with full military honors provided by the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW
