He was born on July 7, 1939 in Georgetown, MD; he was the son of the late Edward L. and Charlotte M. (Glass) Rudy.
Mr. Rudy graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School with the class of 1958. He and his wife, Mrs. Sharon Lynn (Creager) Rudy, were married September 23, 2000 in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to the present residence in 1972.
Mr. Rudy was a flower designer at Eichholz Flowers of Waynesboro in his early life, later was a meat cutter at the former A& P Store of Waynesboro, then Giant Eagle Store in Hagerstown, and prior to retiring in 2003 at the Save-A-Lot Store in Waynesboro. He also was a night manager at the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 731, Waynesboro, 1984 through 1985, and was a bartender at the Eagles Club Inc. in Waynesboro for about 10 years. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #731, Eagles Club Inc. and Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 all of Waynesboro.
Monte played football while in high school, and then played for the Waynesboro Tigers Football Team for a number of years. He enjoyed walking, hunting, fishing, playing golf and was an avid Red Skin Football fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Michelle Rudy-Mirkovick of Studio City, CA, Monica R. Warner of Waynesboro, Monte E. Rudy of Waynesboro, six step-children, Selna Hoffman of Chambersburg, Brian Hippensteel, Kimberly Wilhide, Dennis Hippensteel, Jassen Hippensteel all of Waynesboro, Corbett Hippensteel of Mont Alto, seven grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandson, two sisters, June Fogle of Vista, CA, Bonnie R. Wolff of Waynesboro, a niece, and a close friend, Charles "Chip" Gladhill.
