Earl Otho Coop

Son of Thomas Willard Coop & Daisy Viola Hall. Grandson of Charles C. & Lydia B. Hinkley Coop and Essalum Monroe & Mary VanAtta Hall. The Grandson of pioneers that walked a continent to come to California and Oregon. Mary VanAtta came with her parents from Illinois to Linn County, Oregon in 1852. Earl was always proud to tell how his grandmother walked the whole way!

Earl Coop was a gentle... gentleman. He loved his children and his grandchildren, often referring to them as his "little sugar foot"

Place he lived were: Brisbane, San Francisco, Howard, Red Bluff, Chico, Orland, Paradise, Corning, CA and in Colton & Woodburn, Oregon.

It was while living in San Francisco that he met and married his one and only wife of over 50 years in Golden Gate Park. He felt that she was the one and did somersaults to get her attention. They soon married and lived in San Francisco. Their granddaughter, Peggy remembers hearing many stories about how they played on the sand dunes on the beach, and at "playland" (Now gone)during their early married years. Both their children, Patricia (Patsy) Lorine and Thomas (Tommy) Earl were born in San Francisco.
