David Beardon was a City Police Officer for Miami Beach, Florida for 4 years, dying in the line of duty at age 24. Officer Beardon was in a shootout with two auto thieves, when he was shot and killed. He managed to return fire, striking both subjects, fatally wounding one of them, the other one survived. The wounded suspect was arrested and sent to Prison, he was released in 1960, after 32 years of confinement. Officer Beardon was survived by his parents, two brothers, and five sisters.
