Mitchell Wright Crenshaw, 53, of Willis, Texas passed away on November 8, 2006. He was born on April 22, 1953, in Navasota, Texas and raised in Iola, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Crenshaw, sister, Kathy Gibson, and nephew, Travis Gibson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Felecia Crenshaw; sons, Joshua Crenshaw of Dallas, Nathan Crenshaw and wife Jane of Montgomery, Stephen Crenshaw of Amarillo; daughter, Nakeysha Mallard and granddaughters, Jasmine and Breanne of Houston; father, Wesley Crenshaw and brothers John Crenshaw and wife Glenda of Iola and David Crenshaw and wife Janice of Iola.

He graduated from Iola High School in 1971. After graduating he served in the U. S. Marine Corp. He trained at Camp Pendleton, California in 1971 and 1972. He was stationed at Camp Hanson, Okinawa from 1972 to 1973 with the 3rd Marine Division. He was discharged as a Corporal in 1973. He worked as a patrol officer for the University of Texas A& M and for the Bryan Police Department before joining the Houston Police Department in 1978. He graduated out of Academy Class #75 and earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Blinn Jr. College. In 1983, he was promoted to Sergeant and has been stationed at the Northeast Patrol Division for most of his career. When he was not keeping the Houston streets safe, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling the state of Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at Creston Baptist Church, 3201 Creston, Houston, Texas 77026
