Russian writer and playwright. Emigrated from Russia after 1917. First lived and studied in Germany, later moved to France. Published a book of memoires «L'Homme et l'enfant» (1968). Translated Gogol, Tchekhov and other russian writers in French.
Playwright. He was one of the foremost exponents of the Theatre of the Absurd. His most famous play is "L'Aveu" ("The Confession"), which he wrote in 1946.
