Savannah, Georgia, antique dealer, restorer of historic homes and gracious Southern gentleman brought to fame by multiple murder trials under Judge George Oliver, relating to the shooting death of Danny Hansford. Mr. Williams was cleared of charges and died of pneumonia and heart failure in the study of his Savannah home, 'Mercer House' shortly thereafter. Author John Berendt penned a NY Times Bestseller "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" based upon life in Savannah just prior to the murder of Hansford thru the trials and up to the time of Williams' death.
