Through an area in the Thua Thien province During Operation Chotaw,approximately 11:30 A.M. they came under Enemy mortar and small Arms fire A Fierce Fire Fight began With my Brothers Squad that lasted for two hours, Automatic weapons fire from unknown VC Returnd small arms Fire,Air Strike,and artillery Was called in 3-VC KIA Conf.5-VC KIA Prob.PFC Noble Jackson was the only Marine Killed in this engagement.
Wounded by gun shots from AK-47 Shot in the Left shoulder And Left side of chest and Left Side of his neck he was Alive and talking to His Comrares was Dust Off (meivac)
