-----o-----

Mr. J. R. Campbell Puts Pistol to His Head and Blows Brains Out, in Bad Health.

Temporarily unbalanced on account of ill health, Mr. J. R. Campbell, a well-known young man of the Newell section, put a pistol to his head early yesterday morning at the home of his mother, Mrs. R. M. Campbell, and blew out his brains. The act was committed before any of the family were at hand, and the first intimation that they had of trouble was the report of a gun. Mr Campbell was about 35 years of age, and is survived by his mother, four brothers and two sisters, namely Messrs. Joe, George
And Hendrix Campbell of Crab Orchard and Junius Campbell of Florida and Mesdames Aline McLain and Belle McLain of Crab Orchard. The young man had been in bad health for some time. His mind was affected and he was at one time a patient at Morganton.

The funeral will take place at 11 o'clock this morning at the home, the service being in charge of Rev. W. R . McCalla, Pastor of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church. The interment will be at Elmwood cemetery in Charlotte. The pallbearers will be Messrs. A. B. Hayes, Baxter Berryhill, Vick Orr, James Alexander, Lester Black and Burdet King.
