Zachary E. Peterson, 18, of 886 12th St., died Sunday, June 3, 2001, from injuries sustained in a fall at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, First United Methodist Church, Marion by the Rev. Stain Wierson. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery. . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion.
Survivors include hi parents, Francis "Skip" and Judy Peterson of Marion; his sister Angie Parenteau and husband Mike of Cedar Rapids and their daughter, Chloe, his brother, Mickey Peterson and wife Millie of Valdosta, Ga., and their son, Ethan; his maternal grandfather, Ray McFate and wife Marge of Marion; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandmother.
Zachary was born Nov. 2, 1982, the son of Francis and Judy McFate Peterson in Cedar Rapids. Zach graduated from Marion High School last week. He was an accomplished student artist and loved playing his drums and other musical instruments with his friends. Zach was employed at the Rockwell Recreation Center.
