Residence Anson County NC; 26 years old.
Enlisted on 5/8/1862 at Wadesboro, Anson County, NC., he was mustered into "I" Co. NC 43rd Infantry as a Private.
Hospitalized 7/28/1863 General Hospital #9, Richmond (reason not given); transferred to Winder Hospital #3 7/29/1863.
Promoted to 2nd Corporal 5/16/1864.
Hospitalized 6/3/1864 C.S.A. General Hospital, Farmville, VA. due to gunshot wound (contusion of breast); given 40-day Medical Furlough 6/7/1864.
Present on all rolls until Mortally Wounded (gunshot through neck, esophagus & arm), POW 9/19/1864 at Winchester, VA.; died in U.S.A. Depot Field Hospital.
