In the 1960s, he had some small roles in films before making a noteworthy appearance in the film "Zoff" (1971). His other German cinema credits include "Till Death Do Us Part" (1973), "Eiszeit" (1974), "Tatort" (1979), "Silas" (1981) and "Bang Boom Bang" (1999). For television, he was most noted for the role of Police Detective Dieter Herrle on the series "SOKO 5113" from 1978 to 1986. He died in Hamburg, Germany, at age 52.
