Daniel M. Dawson age 47, was born Aug. 26, 1964, in Oakland, Calif., and went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2011, in Pollock Pines, Calif., where he lived.
Dan was a heavy equipment mechanic. He spent many years working for the ski industries Sierra at Tahoe, Heavenly and Kirkwood. He loved skiing, riding his motorcycle and most of all spending time with his wife and kids. He was a very loving, thoughtful man with a huge heart, full of Faith and a great outlook on life. He loved to make people laugh and always had a smile on his face.
Dan is survived by his wife of 23 years, Michele Dawson; son, Scott Dawson; daughter, Danielle Dawson; parents, Clay and Ellie Dawson; brother, Mark Dawson; and sister, Cherie (John) Zimbrich.
Dan's celebration of life will be held at Green Valley Community Church, located at 3500 Missouri Flat Road in Placerville, Calif., on Friday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the Daniel Dawson Memorial Fund through El Dorado Savings Bank, Account No. 133065532.

Dan was killed on October 1, 2011 in a motorcycle accident. He was on Sly Park Rd. and headed home from the hardware store. There now sits a cross on the side of the road where the accident happened in loving memory of Dan.
He was born August 26, 1964 in Oakland, CA to his wonderful parents Clay and Ellie Dawson. He has one brother Mark, and one sister Cherie. Dan graduated from Skyline High and went off to college at Wyo Tech in Wyoming, where he graduated as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. After graduating he came back to Oakland and worked at AC Transit for 5 years. During this time he met, and married his beautiful wife Michele Dawson in 1988. In 1989 their daughter Danielle Dawson was born. Shortly after that they moved to Pollock Pines and had their son Scott in 1991. Dan was a tow truck driver for a few years, and then went to work for the ski industry for the last 17 years. During those years he has worked for Sierra at Tahoe, Heavenly, and his last employer Kirkwood.
Dan was the life of the party no matter where he went. He loved his friends and family more than anything and it brought him great joy whenever he was able to be with them. Dan was constantly telling jokes and trying to make people laugh. He had a huge heart and was always there to help someone in need. He was a very loving, loyal, amazing husband and the best dad anyone could ask for. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, skiing and just being outdoors. Dan will be remembered most for his loud voice, laugh, sense of humor, and big heart.
Dan is now with the Lord where he is at peace. He was a man of great faith and looked forward to being in heaven. He always said "If I die tomorrow, just know my life has been fulfilled and I could not ask for anything more."
