A memorial service for gospel minister Edgar Lee Adamson of Paris is scheduled at 2 PM Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A private burial was conducted earlier in Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1 PM Friday.

Adamson, 71, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

His wife, Brenda Ann Horan Adamson, survives. They were married on Dec. 2, 1977.

Born Dec. 19, 1938, in Flora, Ill., he was the son of the late Ward and Barbara Olive Stopher Adamson.

Adamson was pastor and member of Paris Christian Center. He was former vice president and general manager of Amtex Supplies and former vice president of American Fittings Corp., both in Houston. In 1984, he and his wife founded Adamson Industrial Supplies in Houston.

In 1985, Adamson was ordained a minister by John O'Steen of Lakewood Church in Houston. In 1987, he moved to Paris and in 1988, he started the Lighthouse Church, which became Paris Christian Center.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons: Christopher (Dana) Adamson of Paris and Mark Adamson of Houston; six grandchildren: October, Ashley, Emma and Kera Adamson and Nikki and Shawna Wickersham, all of Houston; and 12 great-grandchildren.
