Former Chaplain of the Carmelite Nuns, Father Crean was a murder victim. His Funeral Mass was celebrated in Latin at St. John's Church in Gravesend, as requested in his will. It was presided by Monsignor Rapallo, Bishop of Gibraltar, a long time friend of Father Crean, who studied with him for the Priesthood. He was buried in the Grounds of the Corpus Christi Convent, where he had served as Chaplain for five years. When the Sisters left the Convent at Shorne as the property was subsequently sold and the remains of several Sisters and also those of Reverend Crean were exhumed.
