Roy L. Auvenshine, 63, of Dresden, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Bro. Auvenshine were held Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sand Hill Cemetery. Bro. Wayne Perkins and Bro. Bob Copeland officiated the services.
Bro. Auvenshine was the preacher for Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 30 years. He was born, July 4, 1944 in Dresden. Bro. Auvenshine was preceded in death by his father, C.D. Auvenshine; and a brother, Dennis Auvenshine.
Bro. Auvenshine is survived by his wife, Linda (Stewart) Auvenshine of Dresden; a son, Tracy Auvenshine of Dresden; a daughter, Donna Auvenshine of Dresden; his mother, Elaine (Underwood) Auvenshine; three brothers, Debro Auvenshine of Akin, South Carolina, Johnny Auvenshine of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, and Donald Auvenshine of Lansing, Michigan; and one granddaughter, Riley Auvenshine.
