Actress. Born in Philadelphia, she was a comedienne of stage, screen and television, best known for her role as Rhoda's mother on the TV series "Rhoda". She began performing on Broadway in 1941 and made her film debut in "Best Foot Forward" (1943). For television, she made dozens of appearances on "The Gary Moore Show", "Family Affair", "McMillan and Wife", "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "The Carol Burnett Show", "The Golden Girls" and in countless television commercials. She died in Studio City, California.
