Russell A. Amber
Russell A. AMBER, 70, died at 1:40 p.m. Sunday in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been a patient for the past seven weeks. Mr. Amber, who resides on Lucas street at the north edge of the city, had been in ill health for the past two years.
Mr. Amber was maintenance man at The Rochester Sentinel for five years until illness forced his retirement in 1959.
Born June 30, 1899, at Urbana, Ind., he was the son of Robert and Jucinda AMBER. He was married in 1941 at rochester to Anna RUSH LANG. Mr. Amber had resided in this city 21 years, moving here from Columbia City. He was a member of the Urbana Christian church.
Surviving are the wife, at home; five daughters, Mrs. Gerald POOLE, Wabash; Mrs. Jack GAGE, Columbia City; Mrs. John WORKMAN, Columbia City; Mrs. Jack SHARRETT, Detroit, and Mrs. Ralph BARNHART, Ossian; one son, Robert [AMBER], Churubusco; one sister, Mrs. Gladys SCHELLE, Loganspot; and one brother, Leonard POOLE, Wabash.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with Rev. Lloyd OVERMYER of Tyner officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
