Leo Francis DeAngelis, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque sine 1964, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, August 23, 2010. Leo is survived by his wife of 64 years, Olive, son, Roger DeAngelis and his wife, Dianne, grandchildren, Nicole DeAngelis King and her husband, Josh, and Emilie DeAngelis and her husband, Bert Davenport, three great-grandchildren, Kelli, Haedi and Alexander, sister, Erma Menaul and many other relatives and friends. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Luciano and Nicolina DeAngelis. Leo was born on June 8, 1920 in Berwind, CO and graduation from Arvada High School in 1938. Leo entered the United State Air Force, serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict, performing with dignity during both. Leo retired in 1964 and while passing through Albuquerque on their way to Arizona, stopped and got a job at Sears in Coronado Center, when it originally opened. Leo and Olive owned and operated Welch Seed and Bulb for several years. Leo has a passion for the game of golf. Leo was a long-time member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church. Leo was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE on Friday, August 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE on Friday, Agusut 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with entombment to follow with full military honors.
