My great-grandfather Dr. Faulkner practiced horse and buggy medicine in Upper Spencer and Mt. Sterling for many years. I'm told he delivered over 5,000 babies in his day. He first married Pattie Clay Faulkner in 1896(daughter of Aubrey Devereau Faulkner and Sarah Bowen, born 10/23/1879, died 1/17/1900). Pattie gave birth to two sons prior to her death at age 21. He then married Lura Deen Hanks in 1901. When Lura died in 1918 during the Spanish flu epidemic, he married Bertha Sample Faulkner in 1920, or we knew her as "Great Grandmommy". They had no children together.

Morton's parents were Jesse Faulkner and Ruth Hanks Faulkner (daughter of Vancouver Hanks). His daughter Zelma was my grandmother.
