Lou Morton was a daughter of Joab and Mary Jane Stone Morton. Her first husband was George H. Garrett who died in a farm accident in Holt County, Missouri in 1884. Following her husband's tragic death, Lou and her two sons, Weed and William Garrett, returned to Stanton. She remarried Alvin Faulkner in 1889. Some time after Alvin's death in 1931 and her son William's death in 1936, Lou moved to Sardis, Mississippi and lived in the home of her son Weed and family. Lou died in Sardis but her casket came home to Stanton where her funeral was held at the Christian Church on November 27, 1949. She was then buried at Stanton Cemetery.
