HILLS - Homer Hills, age 93, of Howard City, passed away August 6, 2004 at United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was born March 12, 1911 in Ensley Twp., the son of George and Hattie (Dosenbury) Hills. During his working years he worked for Kelvinator for thirty-eight years before retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Ensley Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Marvin (Marilyn) Hills of Hudsonville; two daughters, Joyce (Jerry) Barbar of Greevalley, AZ, Cheryl (Don) Cooper of Belding; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Henry (Katherine) Hunt of Sarasota, FL, Larry Hunt and friend, Fran of Pierson, Eugene (Marguerite) Hunt of Howard City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2003, a son, Homer, a grandson, Tim Butler, a granddaughter, Terrie Hills and a great granddaughter, Kayla Hills. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Ensley Baptist Church with Pastor James Ankerberg officiating. Burial in the North Ensley Cemetery. Memorials to United Memorial Long Term Care or the Ensley Baptist Church may be left at the Heckman Funeral Home where friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and prior to services at the church.
