Died: After 1880, Lafayette County, Mississippi
Nancy's maiden name is unknown, but she was the wife of Matthias Elmore who was born about 1790 in Newberry County, South Carolina. She and her husband were the parents of twelve children, all of whom were born in South Carolina. Sometime before 1846 they moved to Lafayette County, Mississippi. At least three of their children moved along with them.
Even though her gravestone indicates she may have died sometime during the 1860s, she was found living in the home of her son George Thomas Elmore for the 1880 census in Lafayette County.
